The Maxwell-Dirac Equations -- Some Non-Perturbative Results
Abstract:
Some recent non-perturbative results for the coupled Maxwell and Dirac
equations are examined and some new results reported. These results are
focused on properties such as the total charge for an isolated Maxwell-Dirac
system and the necessity of magnetic monopoles for the existence of certain
solutions.
What sort of systems does the Dirac equation with self-consistent electromagnetic
field is describe? Can we build a Maxwell-Dirac model of a single isolated
electron? The results presented in this talk will provide an introduction
to some possible answers to these questions.
