Vladyslav Kyrylovych headed the department until 1990, and on November 5, 1990, the department was headed by Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences Oleksandr Ivanovych STEPANETS (since 1997, Corresponding Member of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine). Since October 2007, the acting head of the department, and since February 6, 2008, the head of the Department of the Theory of Function was appointed Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences Anatoliy Serhiyovych ROMANYUK, who heads the department today. ![]() The Department of the Theory of Function in 2013.
Over the course of its existence, the Department has trained more than 25 Doctors of Physics and Mathematics Sciences and more than 120 Candidates of Physics and Mathematics Sciences. ![]() Department of the Theory of Function together with V.M. Tikhomirov From the first days of its establishment, the department has been actively involved in the organization and holding of mathematical conferences and scientific schools. One of the first such schools was the "Third Summer Mathematical School", which was held from June 25 to July 20, 1965 in the Crimea, in the town of Katsiaveli and was dedicated to topical issues of the constructive theory of functions of real and complex variables. The lecturers at the school were, in particular, such well-known specialists in the theory of functions as S.M. Nikol'skii, S.B. Stechkin and V.K. Dzyadyk. |
