Accommodation

 

Suggested accommodation options for the conference participants are hotels and private apartments. We have chosen several hotels located within walking distance (20 minutes at most) from the conference facilities that are reasonably priced and offer adequate comfort. We may look at other options on request.

 

We would appreciate if you make your choice of accommodation and inform us about your choice by email before May 31. We will make arrangements with the hotels and inform you about their booking requirements (some hotels will want booking to be confirmed by fax with credit card information included). You may book rooms in some hotels yourself by fax/email/internet. In this case we would like to inform us about the booking. However, in this case group discounts do not apply.

    of first choice is fully booked)
  • Arrival date (with arrival details if already available)

Note on arrival/departure dates: Usual check-in/check-out time in Ukrainian hotels is 12.00 noon. If your plane arrives early in the morning, or departs later in the day (travelling time from/to the airport is approximately one hour), you may wish to occupy the room from earlier or until later time. In this case you will be charged for half a day (or two additional half-days for both), and your booking information should include earlier arrival and/or later departure. Another option may be leaving your luggage at the Institute of Mathematics until/after check-in/check-out time.

Prices are given per room per night (so price per person in a double room will be room price divided by two)

 

Some hotels offer corporate discounts for bookings of 20 people or more: if the required number of participants will choose such hotel, then all of then will take advantage of the discount.

Private apartments:

We suggest accommodation in private apartments around the city centre managed by the ABBAT real estate agency (apartments are serviced, but do not offer breakfast).

Please mention the conference in your communications. They have much more apartments available than listed at the web page, with prices from $40 per night for one-room apartment in the city centre. This is a reputable agency that has English-speaking staff, and such accommodation may be preferable for participants with families or willing to have cooking facilities, or just to save money by sharing an apartment. Booking deposit is charged.

If you are interested in other types of accommodation (e.g. better grade hotel), please feel free to write to us, and we will provide you with more information.

 

We have chosen not to offer university student hostel accommodation to non-Ukrainian/Russian speakers, as staff at such hostels does not speak any foreign language, and we are unable to provide interpreting assistance. Another reason is that such hostels are located very far from city centre and travelling there would be difficult to people who do not speak a local language.
