Nonclassical equivalence transformations
Abstract:
Nonclassical equivalence transformations represent a new type of symmetry reductions that can be analyzed for parameter identification problems modeled by
partial differential equations. These symmetry reductions, hidden by the nonlinearity of a mathematical model, can be incorporated into the associated
boundary conditions. Therefore, these symmetry reductions relate the inverse and the direct problems, reduce the order of the model, and allow us to find
analytical solutions of the parameter identification problem.
