Outstanding Ukrainian mathematician Vladislav Kirillovich DZYADYK was born on February 18, 1919, in village Sakhnovshchina (now in Kharkov region). Graduated Dnipropetrovsk University in 1951. In 1953-1960 he worked in Lutsk Pedagogical Institute. In 1960 he defended doctor dissertation. From 1960 - in the Institute of Mathematics of NASU. In 1963-1990 he was Head of the Department of Theory of Functions of the Institute. From 1990 - adviser of director. Simultaneously in 1962-1968 - Head of the Chair of Mathematical Analysis, from 1967 - professor of Kiev University named for Taras Shevchenko. On December 26, 1969 was elected to be Corresponding Member of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine. He was died on October 26, 1998 in Kiev.
He was author of scientific works in the field of theory of functions. He had constructed the constructive theory of functions of complex variable and approximation theory of absolutely monotonic functions. He worked out approximative and approximation iterative methods of solution of differential and integral equations.
Awarded by N.M.Krylov prize of NASU (1991).
