Linear systems of ordinary differential equations of arbitrary order on a finite interval with the most general (generic) inhomogeneous conditions in Sobolev spaces of arbitrary integer order are studied. These boundary conditions may contain derivatives of the unknown vector-valued function of integer and/or fractional orders equal to or greater than the order of the differential equation. Such boundary conditions naturally arise in some applied problems. The boundary conditions are given by an abstract bounded linear operator acting on vector-valued functions from the Sobolev space to the finite-dimensional complex space. Such operators have a unique analytical representation. The coefficients of the differential equation and the operator of the boundary condition depend on a parameter belonging to some compact interval of the real axis.

The character of the solvability of such problems is investigated, and their Fredholm properties are established. We introduced the notion of a rectangular number characteristic matrix of the problem. The index and the dimensions of the problem kernel and co-kernel of this matrix coincide, respectively, with the index and the dimensions of the problem kernel and co-kernel of the inhomogeneous boundary-value problem. Unlike the index, d-characteristics are unstable even with respect to small (in the norm) finite-dimensional perturbations. We give examples in which the characteristic matrix can be explicitly found. We also prove a limit theorem for a sequence of characteristic matrices. Necessary and sufficient conditions were found under which the operators generated by the differential expression and the boundary conditions uniformly or strongly converge in the corresponding Sobolev spaces.

Constructive necessary and sufficient conditions are obtained that guarantee the continuity of the solutions of the boundary-value problems with respect to the parameter at some point of the compact interval of the real axis. As a result, limit theorems for solutions to the studied problems were obtained. Moreover, it was established that the solutions of an arbitrary inhomogeneous well-posed boundary-value problem are the limits of the solutions of boundary-value problems with polynomial coefficients and multipoint boundary conditions that do not depend on the right-hand side of the problems. Two-sided estimates of the rate of convergence of the considered problems were obtained.
The results obtained have been applied to the principles of averaging for solutions of problems with multipoint boundary conditions. We considered the most general class of multipoint linear boundary-value problems for systems of ordinary differential equations of any order whose solutions belong to the Sobolev space. Let us establish explicit sufficient conditions for the solution of the multipoint boundary-value problem to be continuous with respect to the parameter in the Sobolev space. The points of the segment appearing in the limit condition are not fixed and depend on the parameter. Also, the number of points in each series is dependent on the parameter.
