Nonlinear Dynamics is an interdisciplinary field of present-day science that explores nonlinear processes and phenomena occurring in the surrounding world. Dynamical Systems Theory is the basic mathematical tools for studing objects of nonlinear dynamics as well as its self-contained section. The combination of the internal wealth and beauty of results with the exceptional practical importance motivates a growing number of specialists in different areas to research into dynamical systems. In Ukraine, much attention traditionally is given to various aspects of nonlinear dynamics and, in particular, to the development of dynamical systems theory. Herewith, important components are numerous conferences and mathematical schools, regularly held by Ukrainian mathematicians. Following these traditions, Institute of Mathematics of NAS of Ukraine holds the conference "Dynamical Systems and Applications" (Kyiv, May 16-18, 2012). The main topics are topological dynamics, the theory of attractors, combinatorial and symbolic dynamics, the theory of fractals, bifurcation and stability theory. An important objective of the conference is according to the organizers to promote the achievements of the modern theory of dynamical systems, especially in the field of education. To this end, the conference program is supposed to include both reports on original studies and overview talks that may be of interest to a wider audience. The organizers invite to participate experts in dynamical systems theory as well as graduate and postgraduate students, teachers, and others who are interested in nonlinear dynamics. |
