The Institute of Mathematics expresses deep thanks to all caring individuals and organizations who found an opportunity to donate their own or collective costs for repairing infrastructure and helping with functioning the Institute. During 2022-23, we received the following donates:

The Institute especially thanks Ms. Yevgenia Kapschuk, who undertook a special mission of collecting funds for windows’ restoration, as well as our largest donors (transfer over 1000 euros) who did the same mission or transferred own costs: Foundation Compositio Mathematica (The Netherlands), Desine Reinert (Oxford University), Simon Leo Myerson & Miles Reid (University of Warwick), Vira Semenova (UC Berkley), and Roman Cherniha (University of Nottingham). These donates were made in 2022.
Repair of windows and frames
The Institute expresses deep gratitude to Stanislav Oleksiyovych Dovgiy & DOVGIY FAMILY OFFICE, who, within ten days after the destructive barbaric attack on the institute building, paid for the urgent repair of windows’ glass in the amount of more than 54,000 hryvnias, so that, using available material resources of the Institute of Mathematics (in the amount of about 20,000 hryvnias), made it possible to replace almost all the broken windows glasses in the building at Tereshchenkivska 3, including those by Naukova dumka Publisher.
The institute also managed to strengthen the mutilated windows frames before the onset of cold weather. This is a temporary measure. The frames need a replacement. The preliminary cost estimate for that exceeds 500,000 (15,000 euros) to 700,000 (20,000 euros) UAH.
In 2023, in the spite of serious obstacles caused by payment rules for public governmental organisations, IM was able to pay 105,000 UAH for windows frames changes.
We continue to look for sponsors and accumulate funds to replace the damaged frames in the fall 2023. We will be grateful for charitable contributions to the account specified in the link https://www.imath.kiev.ua/news/index.php?news_id=270&lang=en
Utility costs and functioning of the institute. Heating
Currently, the Institute of Mathematics pays all utilities, except the heating. It is very cold in the rooms, most of the employees work remotely. There are no money, and accounting for poor insulation (window frames!), it is impractical to heat the large premises of the institute. To ensure more or less comfortable work conditions for the technical staff required to be at work every day, and a certain number of scientific employees (many people do not have the Internet and electricity at home during the day, blackout due to the Russian terror), the institute began equipping common rooms. The first batch of special equipment, including heat pumpers, was purchased. In 2022, institute purchased for 3 heat pumpers and, in 2023 -- 5 heat pumpers.
Fundraising and purchase of the equipment continues https://www.imath.kiev.ua/news/index.php?news_id=262&lang=ua
Financial help, individual grants
The Institute is developing specific regulations on how to use the corresponding donations for supporting individuals. In 2023, a special fund will be created, and the relevant international board will determine how and according to what criteria such a granting will be provided.
Equipment donation
Institute appreciates CTDEV CORP (USA) for donating us 35 used laptops. This was done in 2022. In 2023, this company provided 22 computer
